I got this honkin' big muzhar when I ordered a riq. 14.5 inches across. It sounds great. Thing is, the jingles look like something picked up out othe scrap heap in a sheet metal shop.
Do you know anyone that makes jingles? The jingles that came with the thing are stainless steel cutouts from someone's sheet metal shop-scrap. Hand hammered bronze/brass/copper aren't necessary, but machined or pressed ones would be nice and sound a lot better.
At least with the steel one's I can play the "chains" part to Ramzy's "Halloween". HAHAHAHA!

Re: Jingle Makers?
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 7:36 PMYou might try Cooperman ( www.cooperman.com ). When I purchased a riq from them a while back they gave me a bunch of different jingles. They also make various jingle drums too, so they have them in all shapes and sizes.

Re: Jingle Makers?
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 8:19 PMIf you want excellent quality ones, contact Eckermann in Austria. You'll probably want to give him the diameter you want replaced (in cm). He does have a web site and he makes them himself from choosing the metal to cutting, etc. I replaced the zils on my Cooperman with a set of his for about $40-50 which included shipping. This was before the US dollar became a third world currency and were smaller than the ones you will need for a muzhar. He will come up on a google search.
