I think the shells come from Pakistan but he does the heading, ropes, etc. Excellent work but they have animal skins on both sides. Other than people who either make their own or have gotten lucky, the best are from Turkey and that's where David has been living and got the one he has for sale. I haven't played it but have faith in David's ability to choose one.

Depends on if you want a traditional animal skin tabal or a modern one with a plastic skin. Most professional tabal players in Sydney make their own drums from standard parts from a western drum shop.

A traditional drum, which can be a pain to tune in wet or humid conditions, you will need to find an importer. We are lucky in Sydney we have at least one importer who can get exotic instruments from the middle east, even if he does charge a very high premium.
