here is a fun one for split finger work from my class with Mehmet Akatay last night.
then try accenting all the L's except the 3rd one. it's nifty!
put all the notes together as in a roll - dashes are for ease of reading.
R1 L1 R3 R1 ---- L3 R3 R1 L1 ----- L3 R3 R1 L1 ----- R3 L3 R1 R3
R1 - right index
R3 - right ring
L1 - left index
L3 - left ring

Re: just a little exercise
Mon, April 28, 2008 - 6:53 AMHoo-boy... I just tried for about 3 minutes to get through it just as few times super-duper slow, and the cycle is way non-intuitive for me. I suppose it's just one of those things that you gotta plug away at for a while before it starts to click...

Mon, April 28, 2008 - 9:29 PMWow. That just feels really awkward at first. The #2 and #3 stanza flow, but #1 and #4 are challengin indeed. What a great exercise to work on finger strength, awareness, and dexterity. Thanks for posting!
